Lafayette to New Orleans, Lousiana
We left the KOA near Lafayette at 9 a.m., following Pat and Suzanne east on I-10. We all arrived at the KOA in River Ridge, west of New Orleans and about 10 miles from the French Quarter. I made lunch for all of us, then went for a walk on the Mississippi River levee across the street from the campground. Suzanne grew up in New Orleans and has lots of family here. They're off to visit family and John and I drove to find the Lutheran Church we attended two years ago when we were here. It's on the north end of Canal Street near Lake Ponchartrain and we're not sure how much damage they suffered from Katrina. John wants beignets at Cafe DuMond in the French Quarter in the worst way so we'll do that tomorrow after church. It's really cold and windy tonight.
