We were on our way to the Morse Museum when we passed the Orlando Museum of Art and saw the banner of the Quilts from Gee's Bend. I had read a lot about them last year when the Postal Service issued a series of stamps featuring the quilts, so when we were finished with Tiffany I asked John to drive back so I could see them. I wasn't allowed to take any pictures, but here's a link to many of them. I copied the image shown here from the Museum's website.
One of the interesting series of quilts had lots of 70's green corduroy in them. In the 1970s Sears hired many of the women in the area to make pillow covers. These quilts were made with the scraps from the olive green corduroy they used in the pillow covers.
