This morning we walked to the Lutheran House and then to the amp in the rain. This will be the last week of Sunday services in the Lutheran House since there will not be a chaplain next Sunday. In the non-denominational service in the amphitheater, the preacher and chaplain for the week is Rev. Dr. Cynthia Hale, senior pastor of Ray of Hope Christian Church in Decatur, Georgia. The church started as a Bible study in her living room in 1986 and is now a 5,000 member mega-church. Her sermon didn’t inspire either John or I and we will probably skip the morning devotional hour this week.
John went for a drive this afternoon and I went to the library to blog and to the gym.
Tonight’s Sacred Song Service was an old fashioned hymn sing. Jared had the choir mixed in with the congregation rather than in the organ loft. His introductions of the various hymns, some familiar, some not, was quite interesting.
