We were on our way to Silvery Moon Creamery to get cheese and passed Haven's Candies. We had to stop, of course. I'm amazed at how many candy companies there are in this part of the country. They come in a close second to home made ice cream stands. Herbert Haven, son of candy makers, founded the company in 1915 and it's still going strong.
We discovered Silvery Moon Creamery in Westbrook and I would have bought a whole wheel of brie if it had been available. All they had was a small wedge. So I also bought a piece of Rosemary's Waltz, and Farmhouse Cheddar. We had to wait 30 minutes for them to open so John talked to the ponies and I rode the dragon made out of John Deere tractor parts.
