The campground store had a variety of postcards and we saw one for a dish called La Poutine. It looked weird, to say the least, so we asked the young man behind the counter about it. He laughed and said it is junk food, french fries and curd cheese coated with brown sauce. It's apparently available everywhere, including McDonald's. In the spirit of "we should try local food" John insisted we find some. So we stopped at McDonald's on the way home for dinner. I had a salad, John tried the poutine. No thanks.
We saw the poutine sauce for sale in the grocery store. It must be big, because there were several brands and sizes of cans of brown sauce.
