Sevierville, Tennessee and the On-Line Campers

Left Chattanooga and drove through Knowville and southeast to Sevierville (prounced Severe-ville). John Sevier served under George Washington during the Revolutionary War and was the first governor of Tennessee. Sevierville is just north of Pigeon Forge, home of Dollywood, and at the foot of the Smoky Mountains. The AOL On-Line Campers has their annual camp-out here every year. The original group started from people who met each other in AOL’s chat room for Rvers. There are about 30 rigs here this year, many of the folks new to us. People bring friends, neighbors and family. We’ve only been to one Smokies camp-out—in 2001.

Weather is supposed to be ugly this week-end. Sure enough, about 8 p.m. the wind started and the rain pelted. Weather report said there was golf ball size hail in the neighboring county.
