We went to worship at Joy Lutheran Church in St. Mary’s. It was an interesting experience. They lost their lease sometime last year (at the address we couldn’t find) and have been meeting in an old warehouse. This is their last Sunday in this space. They are moving into rented space in the historic area of St. Mary’s next week. It was one of the most casual and friendly congregations we have ever been with.
We decided to go to the galley (formerly called the mess hall) on base for dinner. It is the first military installation we’ve been to where everyone is welcome to eat. $3.50 for dinner isn’t bad. Food isn’t gourmet, but tasty.
