Today we move on to Thousand Trails’ Virginia Landing campground on the Eastern Shore. It’s rainy and cold today. It’s a seventeen mile drive across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel from Virginia Beach to Cape Charles. The peninsula is also referred to as the Delmarva Peninsula (Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia). When we were here five years ago I learned that Virginia is in two parts. I must have been sleeping in geography class.
This is a very rural area. Green fields, trees and lots of water. The campground is six miles from the nearest “town” of Quinby which consists of a post office and a few houses. Our campsite looks out on Hogs Bay and is separated from the Atlantic Ocean by Hogs Island.
