We arrived at the UCSD Cancer Center about 9 a.m. and met Dr. Ball's nurse. She explained that she is just filling in since his former nurse quit unexpectedly last week. She works for another doctor full-time so that partially explains the difficulty we had in finding out anything about John's blood results. John asked her if Dr. Ball is hard to work for since he has a different nurse (case manager) every time we see him. Her answer was very sweet -- she found him to be very caring and gentle. Hmmm.
We got the paperwork for x-rays from her and walked over to Thornton Hospital where John was x-rayed from "his nose to his toes" as he put it. They're looking to see if there are any more holes in his bones. Then more blood drawn and we go home to wait. It will be 7 to 10 days before they have blood results and we get to see the doctor.
I spent a few hours with my Mom while John went down to the Marine Corps Recruit Depot to see about a storage space for Toby. We're still debating what to do with him after we move into our condo. Although I don't think it's much of a debate anymore. He's "outta here."
We're back in the land of movie theatres so we went to the movies in Fashion Valley. There were lots of little kids in Halloween costumes trick or treating in the stores and kiosks. The cutest was a 3 year old girl in a fuzzy yellow duck costume.
