Again, we had a pull-through site so didn’t have to unhook the trailer from the car. That makes for a little faster get-away in the morning, except when the keys get locked in the car. We were all ready to go. I had put my purse in the car which has my keys and cell phone in it. I had put Maggie in the car, tossed John’s keys that we use to drive with into the driver’s seat, closed the door so Maggie wouldn’t get out, and went back to lock the trailer. Yikes, the car doors locked and both our sets of keys are inside. Luckily it was a very cool morning so Maggie was okay. And luckily John had his cell phone in his pocket so we could call AAA. They gave their usual “someone will be there within 60 minutes.” However, Sheridan Lock and Key showed up in about 30 minutes and it was scary how quickly he was able to unlock the doors. It ended up being 8:15 before we left the campground. It’s only 350 miles to our next stop, Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. (And another state capitol.)
There is a system of gates on the freeway near towns (Sheridan and Casper) that they can close during storms and force you off the freeway into town. Must be fun in winter around here. Of course, I am paranoid about snow.

Wyoming has beautiful rest stops. We stopped at this one outside Casper and the lawn was lush and green. There were 4 or 5 picnic tables, complete with barbecues and brick walls to protect from the wind. The bathrooms were immaculate with real porcelain toilets, not the metal prison ones California uses. Of course they don’t get as much use as California’s. The ride today was another beautiful one through lush, green country with very little traffic and very few off-ramps.
We arrived at Warren Air Force Base about 4 p.m. We’re going to stay here three nights. We had a back-in site, but I was able to back in pretty easily. The trailer is not totally straight to the curb, but John accepted it as okay.
After we set up, I went to the fitness center. John found a GM dealer where he can get the oil changed tomorrow. We’ve put more than 4,000 miles on the car in the month we’ve been gone.
