Rain and Champagne

The remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy fell on us all night long and then into the afternoon. I spent the morning working on my photos and finished getting them organized into folders and labeled. Now I need to go back in my journal and blog and insert some photos. And I need to get inspired about taking pictures now that I can do it without the resulting stacks of photos that drive John nuts.

We went to the little Port Republic Post Office that is a small room in the store, then on to the Renault Winery to buy a hostess present for the Burches. They make blueberry champagne. New Jersey grows lots of blueberries and I have been enjoying them every morning for breakfast.

In Egg Harbor John got his hair cut and came back chuckling about the small town barber shop. Could have been a movie set.

We stopped by Port Republic City Hall. It is in a small trailer and is the only commercial thing we could find besides the little store and Post Office. The homes are beautiful on large lots with lots of trees, flowers and grasss. Deputy City Clerk was in her office and was surprised to meet a retired City Clerk from California. Port Republic has a population just over 1,000.

When we got back to the RV Park I took my computer to the office for a telephone line in order to get some more info in the blog. Uploading photos is a very slow process.
