Allegany State Park to Mexico, New York

Today we drove 250 miles northeast through the Finger Lakes and then north on I-81 hrough Syracuse, New York to Mexico. New York is a huge fruit growing state. We passed several apple orchards that said they were opening tomorrow for "pick your own" apples.

After we parked at J & J Campground, we drove into Mexico, which says they had the best tasking water in New York in 1991 and 2002. Wonder what happened in the 10 years in between. And who are the judges? And how many water samples do they taste?

For dinner we drove north to the town of Pulaski and Stefano's Italian Restaurant. The campground had given us a menu and said they would deliver. We thought it made more sense to drive there. Food was adequate. Lots of left overs.
