The Villages and Ocala

Not content to sit still, I asked if we could drive up and see The Villages, a retirement community that is huge!! We saw just a small piece of it. The neighborhoods are all gated so you can't see the homes, but we drove around the Lake Sumter Landing Market Square and I took this photo of all the golf cars. (They don't call them golf carts here.)
The streets have a parallel road that is for the golf cars and bicycles. Everyone zooms around in their customized cars that look like Rolls Royces or Model As or is painted with their favorite football team's colors and insignia. I found it hard to keep my eyes on my driving because I was so fascinated by this mode of transportation. Reminded me of Disneyland somehow.

From The Villages we drove north to Ocala, population 50,000. It's an old City with some beautiful older homes. We drove up SR 441, which is east of I-75, and saw several large thoroughbred farms on the way. We got back home in time for dinner.
