Evening out in Montpelier

We hurried home (as much as you can in a State with twisting roads and picturesque villages) to get ready for our night out. The New England Culinary Institute is in Montpelier and they operate two restaurants downtown. We have reservations at the Main Street Grill and Bar before the 8 p.m. curtain at the Lost Nation Theatre in the second floor of City Hall. I had bought tickets for the play in the City Clerk's office on Thursday.

The photos are of City Hall and an impressive cake that was in the lobby of the restaurant. The meal wasn't extraordinary but we had a table on the terrace on the street. That was very nice.

After dinner we strolled the block to City Hall to see "Vivien" a one woman play about Vivien Leigh. Janis Stevens originally played the role at the Sierra Repertory Theatre in Sonora, California and later off-broadway. Her physical resemblance to Vivien Leigh was uncanny and it we thought it was very well-done.

A nice evening out.
