We plan to make a loop south and east today. Our first stop for breakfast is Moody's Diner. They are celebrating their 80th birthday this year and are even mentioned in the AAA Guidebook under Waldoboro's entry. The Roadfood book has an entry and recommended the corned beef hash so we both had some with a fried egg. It was light and fluffy and very flavorful, but not something I usually order. Evidently they are famous for their pies, and many people traveling up Route 1 in the summer stop for pie. I drew the line at pie for breakfast, but John ordered the apple crisp. Of course, I helped him eat it. It came with the richest, thickest whipped cream on top I've ever tasted.
They must do a good business. They have a gift shop in a separate building across the parking lot.
