We left Limehurst Lake campground about 10:00 a.m We would have left earlier but we got involved in a conversation with the couple next door. It's only 175 miles the quickest way. We managed to make it about 225 somehow. We headed towards St. Johnsbury on the freeway, went through New Hampshire on Rt. 2. New Hampshire is about 30 miles across at that point and you pass through Gorham. Glen House is 25 miles south of Gorham and the entrance to the car road to Mt. Washington. We've heard about Mt. Wshington and its terrible weather. May try and drive up later this trip.
Our destination is the Augusta-West Lakeside Resort Kampground in Winthrop, Maine. It's about 15 miles west of Augusta, the State Capitol. Another bucolic location on a lake (a BIG lake) where people come year after year and spend the entire summer, even folks who live 20 miles away. We're here for 11 nights.
