National Museum of the Morgan Horse

Today, we headed back to Shelburne, just south of Burlington to learn more about Morgan Horses. The National Museum of the Morgan Horse shares its home with the American Morgan Horse Association. They arranged their displays chronologically starting with Mr. Justin Morgan, his colt Figure who became known as the Justin Morgan horse, a horse that could "out-work, out-show, out-run and out-pull any other horse around," and he passed on those desirable qualities to his offspring, famous sons and grandsons; talked about the contributions the Morgan made as a work horse, road horse, cow horse, race horse, and cavalry horse; and how the breed was preserved. Lots of history
